Second Chance Dog Rescue is proud to announce the following adoptions that have taken place since first opening our rescue in 2004.   Most of the dogs that come into Second Chance Dog Rescue were either on their final days or very close to it. Each of the dogs that are taken into the rescue are examined by the vet and provided with all shots, as well as they are neutered or spayed and heartworm tested. The majority of the dogs are often very sick and may also need time to just "feel better". For many of you that adopted from us, our house was just the first step; your home has become your new pet's final step in finding his/her "forever home". Hopefully, as time has gone on, your new friend is settling in and the pain that we once saw in his eyes is turning into the joy of knowing that his forever home is one that is filled with love and security.

Second Chance Dog Rescue was founded in July, 2003 by Lisa Roosa and Jesse Reeve.  Both have a strong love for dogs and wanted to help homeless dogs find a "second chance" at new and loving homes.  Most of the dogs that come into Second Chance Dog Rescue were either on their final days or very close to it.  Each of the dogs that are taken into our rescue are examined by a veterinarian and provided with all shots.  They are also neutered or spayed and heart worm tested.  The majority of the dogs are often very sick and may also need time to just "feel better".

For my boyfriend, Jesse Reeve.  Thank you for helping to make a dream come true.  Together we have rescued and placed more animals than we can ever count.  The faces of those animals when they come to us, we will never forget.  We share our home with them while they heal however the true rewards are when "our little four legged friends" find their "forever homes".

For my very special friends and mentors, Linda and John Wickham,  Hickory Hill K-9 Rescue.  You both are saints.  Not only did you give me my very special cocker Barrett, but I know I can always count on you whenever I need anything.  Thanks for being there for me and mentoring me.

For my very special friend, Stacey Huntzinger who is always there to help me out.  Not only does she give me the chance to get away but she is always there when I need to work late and can't get home to let the dogs out.  This rescue would not run as well as it does without her.  Stacey, I canot thank you enough for all you do.

For Dr. Anna Russau.  Words alone can not express how much what you do means to me.  This rescue is a dream come true.  Thank you so much for making it possible.  You are always there for both my animals and me.  I can not thank you enough for what you do.

For Laura Bonner, Web Designer, my dearest friend.  I do not know what I would do without you.  You also helped to make a dream come true.  You took a vision and turned it into a reality.  I love my website.  It is so bright and cheerful.  Not only did you make my website a reality but you also helped to make my newsletter a reality.  Both look fantastic.  I could not do it without you.

Second Chance Rescue would also like to thank the following persons or groups for their continued support.

Rebecca Rudolph
Linda Wuckovich
Barbara Scott
The Staff at Country Club Kennels
The Staff at Aquia Animal Hospital
The Staff at Virginia Kenchloe Spay and Neuter Clinic
The Staff at Spotsylvania Animal Shelter

Many of these people have helped with everything from providing encouragement to Jesse and I, to helping us keep up with all the dogs and their day to day needs, to helping to hold dogs at the doggie adoption days or providing us with very generous items for our homeless animals. It is through their generous support that we are able to continue to help these homeless animals.
